Greedy bastards

and liars too

I wish one of these guys would just come up to me and say, "We are trying to suck every penny out of you we can. Consequently, if we could charge you extra for the air in the threatre, we would do that too."

I think I could handle that. We might be able to negotiate some arrangement if they were just honest about their greed but lying about it just pisses us normal people off.

That is why it costs you $5.50 to get in a movie and you can't bring in your own snacks or drinks. Charge me a $1 to bring in my own stuff but at least give me some options.

I've said it before, things are going to get a lot worse before they get any better.

One day, it just might happen.

Someday, in some litle tiny place no one ever heard of, it might happen because the town preacher/priest/rabbi/mullah declares some movie to be evil and sinful.

It will never happen in a major way for one simple reason, people care more about seeing Superman fly than they care about being raped for a vat of popcorn. The problem is that "they" have been sticking it in a millimeter at a time over the last 30 years till we are just minldess of the fact that we have commercials before our movies and that a coke and bucket of popcorn cost the same as our monthly mortgage. No one screams in outrage that a ticket to see The Eagles costs $150 and you can't even bring in a bottle of water, they just charge it on their credit card with barely a grimace.

I'm as guilty as the rest. I remember when a draft beer cost $0.25 and you could get a damm fine hamburger for $0.50 but I still pay $40.00 for my wife and I to go see Harry Potter simply because one person truly cannot make a difference in today's world.
