It's over, someone turn out the lights

Free speech is dead

I guess MTV sold out a long time ago but this one makes it official. I'm at a loss for words...

I doubt that most people who watch MTV would stop watching it because NIN sang a song with a picture of Bush behind them.

I suppose that there might be a few who would stop watching it but there will also be a few who stop watching it because MTV are being pussies and not allowing NIN to perform as they see fit.

I think that there are probably more NIN fans that watch MTV than there are Bush fans that watch MTV.

I don't give much of a shit about NIN myself, but I do care about this sort of squashing of dissent and freedom of expression. Not that I watch MTV or anything.

I can't stand Jay Leno either, but he had a rather anti-bush performance on his show a few weeks back. Check it out here:

I wonder what would have happened if the reverse were the case.

What if Creed wanted to play some patriotic song and flash Bush's picture up, praising him instead of giving him his just deserts.

We all know no one would have said shit and THAT my friends, is what pisses me off.
